Auntiques and Uncle Junque Sale
The Senior ministry at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Milton will host their third annual "Auntiques and Uncle Junque" sale on Aug. 20 from 7 a.m. - 12 noon with Preview night on Friday, Aug. 19 from 5 - 7 p.m.. Annual Evening of Comedy. Decades of Music at the Hilton Pensacola Beach Gulf Front on Aug. 20 from 6 – 10 p.m. This year’s event will include entertainment by comedian Kerri Pomarolli, a gourmet dinner, and live and silent auctions. WEAR-TV 3’s Sue Straughn will return to emcee the event and Brent Lane of Cat Country 98.7 will serve as the live auctioneer. Dress is business, cocktail, or pick your decade attire. Proceeds from the Evening of Comedy supports Covenant Hospice’s mission to add life to days when days no longer can be added.

Auditions for ‘A Beautiful Life’
Auditions for A Beautiful Life will be held on Aug. 13 at the Dragonfly Gallery on Escambia St. in Milton. Auditions will be at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. with rehearsals set to begin on Aug. 20. This will be a two act musical play telling the history of Santa Rosa County and its people with performances planned in October. For more information call 324-2875.

Surfers hope to amend ordinance at Navarre Beach - navarrepress ...
Surfers, swimmers and Santa Rosa County officials met last Thursday to discuss potential changes to the surf ordinance that prohibits surfing from certain locations along Navarre Beach.
Midway Fire Chief Jonathan Kanzigg and Fort Walton Beach Firefighter D.J. Stone led the meeting, which gathered about 25 people inside the Holley-Navarre Fire Station on Aug. 3. Santa Rosa County engineer Roger Blaylock, and Terry Wallace, county utilities supervisor also attended.
At issue for surfers is the current surf ordinance which prohibits surfing of any kind in public bathing areas.
