Backpack Bandits Arrested After Allegedly Targeting SoCal Universities
After a string of burglaries at five southern California campusus, police have arrested a man and a woman tin Irvine in connection to the crimes, reports the OC Register .Karim Patrece Davis, 28, and Angie Latoya Gray, 25, were taken into custody on August 4, after officials allegedly tracked stolen credit cards that the pair had been using. During the arrest, swag from burglaries besides those that took place at the universities was reportedly also found.
The five campuses that were hit were UCLA, Cal State Long Beach, Cal State Fullerton, Cal Poly Pomona and UC Irvine. The pair allegedly stole wallets, purses and laptops. An investigation began after the Physical Sciences Quad and Engineering Gateway at UC Irvine was targeted.
Officers quickly realized that multiple campuses were involved, and were soon led to Davis and Gray. Davis is being held on $20,000 bail, and Gray was released yesterday.
