Abraham: Father of Doctrine of Monotheism — 10
Nimrod (Namrud) ruled over Babylon with absolute might and power, the pelf of which drove him to command people to worship him as their divine Lord. His Royal astrologer however predicted his downfall at the hands of a mere common from his subjects who would not only challenge his authority but also rise as a formidable tide against idolatry. Thus blissfully ignorant of the ways of Allah, a frenzied Namrud embarked on an unnatural strategy of separating all men and women in his kingdom, to ensure that no such child was ever conceived. Azar’s wife retreated to the loneliness of the Babylonian hills and it was there that Abraham (Prophet Ibrahim) was born in a cave. His sustenance descended from Allah and thirteen years later he returned into the city and took apprenticeship with a master sculptor, his own father Azar.“They said, build him a furnace and throw him into the blazing fire!” (39:97). Abraham was cast into the fire for defying idol worship, but the flames cooled by divine ordinance. “We said O fire! Be then cool and means of safety for Abraham.” (21:69)“This failing they then sought a stratagem against him.” (39:98).Interpreting the verse, (39:97-98), Allama Yousuf Ali says, “The argument of Abraham was so strong that it could not be met by argument. In such cases evil resorts to violence and, or secret plotting. Here there were both, violence consisted throwing him into the fire – a blazing furnace. But by the mercy of Allah, the fire did not harm him so they resorted to plotting. But even the plotting was a boomerang that recoiled on their hands.”
Other than Hazrat Muhammad (pbuh), Hazrat Ibrahim is the only other prophet whose Sunnat is enjoined upon Muslims in the Holy Quran. This is indeed a unique honour. Not surprisingly then Hazrat Ibrahim is the father of the doctrine of monotheism and was mentioned to Hazrat Muhammad in the early Meccan Sura Al-Nahl: “Abraham was an exemplar, obedient to Allah, upright (Hanif)…..”“Then we revealed to thee: follow the faith (milla) of Abraham, the upright one (Hanif) and he was not of the polytheists.” (16:120-123). And again to a Sura belonging to the last Meccan period: “My Lord has guided me to the right path, to a most right religion, the faith (milla) of Abraham, the upright one (Hanif) and was not of the polytheists.” (6:162) .
The legacy that Abraham too left for his progeny was one of monotheism.

In Daniel 2, Nebuchadnezzar had a dream which Daniel interpreted, foretelling the rise and fall of four kingdoms: Babylon, Greece, Medo-Persia and Rome. There was a fifth kingdom that was to rise and become greater than all the others,

And so those who scratch their heads at that mental image should make haste to the New Zealand International Film Festival to catch Fire in Babylon today or next Tuesday to see what it was all about. Things will look rather different after watching

He cites his own song, Babylon's Burning the Ghetto, as an example of a record that carried a message. "I was saying this five years ago. They have to take us seriously, because we've got more influence and more input on the youth than they have.

The Rise and Fall of the City of Babylon
According to the Book of Revelation, the city of Babylon has to be rebuilt once again. This is another key event for everyone to really keep an eye on.
Prophecy scholars are divided in their opinion as to whether or not the city of Babylon will literally be rebuilt again. After studying the verses I will list below, I believe the Bible is using literal interpretation and it is meaning exactly what it is saying. If this is correct, then the city of Babylon will once more be rebuilt so God can literally wipe this unholy city right off the face of this earth!
The city of Babylon is in the country of Iraq. Back in the early 70’s, Saddam Hussein started to try and rebuild the city once again. He probably got about half of it rebuilt before the United States took him out in their war with Iraq. It remains to be seen if Iraq will continue to rebuild this city once a new government has been put into place and things start to settle down.
God the Father has a MAJOR BEEF with the city of Babylon. I personally feel that He is going to allow it to be rebuilt once again so that He can personally destroy it Himself. Here are the reasons why.
Back in the Old Testament in the Book of Genesis, the city of Babylon was the first city where man began to worship himself in organized rebellion against God Himself. It was where Satan officially set up his initial headquarters. The first official world ruler was Nimrod and he ruled from the city of Babylon. Most, if not all of the false religions of this world, can be traced back to the city of Babylon.
As you will see in the following verses, Babylon is called a harlot - because from out of her came all of the other false religions that have set themselves up against the one and only true God of the Bible. From these other false religions have come massive persecution of God’s people throughout the ages. Satan and his demons have obviously been behind all of these other false religions such as Buddhism, Confucianism, Taoism, Islam, Hinduism, Mormons, Jehovah’s Witnesses, etc.
Many in the radical end of Islam hate all Christians and Jews. There is horrible persecution going on right now with Muslims slaughtering Christians in the southern parts of Sudan and in some parts of Indonesia. Satan and his demons rule behind these other false religions and he is the one obviously causing all of this hatred towards Christians and Jews.
