If you heard a PC gamer complained recently, chances are they are complaining of Ubisoft. Delay between the PC versions of its games at the 11th hour and put on lock down with a restrictive DRM that requires players to be constantly connected to the Internet to play games, Ubisoft has just made a few enemies in the kingdom of PC gaming.
As far as DRM goes, always the type that needs to Ubisoft is probably the most stupid. Many players don’t have a rock solid internet connect that’s up 24/7, and as a result, those players don’t get to play a game they paid good money for whenever they please. Even worse is the fact that this kind of DRM doesn’t really work, as pirates will have a cracked version that bypasses the DRM up on torrent sites within hours or days of release.
Essentially, this kind of DRM only punishes those who pay for the game, so you can see why people don’t really like it. Perhaps that’s why Ubisoft has announced that Assassin’s Creed: Revelations won’t require the infamous always on DRM when it launches on PC later this month, instead only requiring an internet connection the first time you boot the game up. Good news? Absolutely! But just because Ubisoft says something doesn’t make it true.

CD Projekt doesn’t seem like a horrible, money hungry company at all. If you’re a PC Gamer, you understand the need for quality when it comes to PC exclusives and if you have any respect for the PC community, you’d do your part in buying the game if you’re interested. As Digital Protection said, “ Don’t copy that floppy! ”You give CD Projekt 100%, they’ll give you 100% back.
