Kroger Prepares to Open First Marketplace in Montgomery County

WILLIS, TEXAS (August 9, 2011) – Nearly two years ago, Kroger introduced its first Marketplace in Texas in the Houston suburb of Richmond. The Willis Marketplace will offer features unique to a Kroger Signature store along with an expanded variety of products, including organic and natural items, chef-prepared foods and pastries, an impressive wine and beer assortment, toys, children’s essentials and kitchen accessories. A fuel center, Fred Meyer Jewelers store, and a home furnishings and décor section featuring the Ashley Furniture® brand and the new Bombay® collection will round off the offerings.

The nation’s third largest jewelry retailer – Fred Meyer’s Jewelers – will open a 1,500 square-foot store within Marketplace. Known for legendary service, quality and competitive prices on fine jewelry, including engagement rings and luxury watches, Fred Meyer Jewelers will deliver an excellent value for shoppers’ time and money.

Ashley Furniture

The Ashley Furniture® brand will have a large home furnishings section that is approximately 2,500 square feet that is bedecked with different furniture pieces. Kroger has partnered with PowerPoint Logistics, a Houston-based company, to help meet customers’ delivery needs.
